4T science lab

We have been busy designing, carrying out and creatin presentations for our very own experiment.

The time has come for us to share it with you.

We will have them on display in the 4T science lab where you can meet the 4T scientist yourself.

Here is a sneak peek at my experiment.

What do you hypothesise will happen in our experiments?

Hands on science visit

This term we are learning about science.

Last week we participated in a school visit from Hands On Science. We did lots of experiments like seeing how flammable materials were and testing how strong different types of paper are.

My favourite experiment was the testing how strong the paper was.

Here is the science report for what we did:

Last week we participated in a school visit from Hands On Science. We did lots of experiments like seeing how flammable materials were and testing how strong different types of paper are.

My favourite experiment was the testing how strong the paper was.

Here is the science report for what we did:

Aim: To see which type of paper was the strongest.

Hypothesis: I hypothesise that the butcher paper would be the strongest because it was the thickest. I also hypothesise that the tissue paper would be the least strong because it was the thinnest.

Variables:

Measure: how strong the paper is.

Change: the thickness of the paper.

Same: how we measure using Newtons

Materials:

-butcher paper

-paper towel

-newsprint

-tissue

-copy paper

-holder

-scale

Method:

1. Put the hook through the hole in the paper

2. Get people to look at how many Newtons for when you test it.

3. Pull the paper until it rips

4. Write your results on a piece of paper.
