A few tips for camp

Dear Future year 4 students,

I have a few tips for camp.

1. Go to the top of the giant swing. Even if your’e scrared it’s really fun when your’e on on it.

2. When you cook damper, cook it very slowly. I remember almost everyone in my group put their damper so close it burnt really quickly. Also some people’s damper fell off the stick.

3. When you do the list of 4 people you want in your cabin, choose people who won’t talk very much so you can get to sleep easier.

Did you enjoy camp?

Convict day recount

“William Bryce,” the Magistrate yelled. 2 people walked towards him. 2 convicts named William  Bryce who both stole a looking glass. That’s very unlikely I thought to myself. It was finally convict day. We had been learning about the convicts who came to Australia on the First Fleet. On convict day we participated in different activities like making love tokens, old fashioned handwriting and drama. At the end of the day the parent came and could ask us about what it was like for convicts who came on the First Fleet.

Some photos from convict day

Suddenly, magistrate Mitchell walked into the room.

He said “I only have time to sentence 6 convicts because I’m meeting Mr Footy Socks afterwards,”

After he sentenced the 6 convicts he went to see Mr Footy Socks. But I doubt Mr Footy Socks is a real person. I think magistrate Mitchell just used Mr Footy Socks as an excuse to go home.
